FROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

From the Principal

Dear Parents, Families and Caregivers

Welcome to Term 4! I hope you had a wonderful break with your children.

We’ve had a vibrant start to the term. Staff began with a Reflection Day centred on “Wondering with the Word”, exploring faith through storytelling and experiential learning, and reflecting on the role of educators in sharing the Church’s history.

Last Friday, we kicked off Little Paddy’s Transition to School Program, welcoming 11 Reception children for 2026 and their families. This program will run every Friday morning from 9-11am throughout the year.

On Thursday, 39 students proudly represented our school at the Volleyball SA Primary School Carnival Finals at The Lights. They demonstrated our core values—respect, responsibility, and resilience—while competing with great skill and teamwork. We’re thrilled to announce that St Patrick’s was named Champion School, earning gold in six divisions and silver in one. A big thank you to Miss Nicole Johnson for her outstanding coaching and organisation.

Don’t forget—our School Disco is this Friday from 6:30-8:00pm in the Sr Mary Mercer Hall. The theme is White and Neon - Let’s Light Up the Night! Tickets are still available at the front office.

Enjoy this beautiful spring weather.

Warm regards

Catherine

Class Masses and Liturgy of the Word

We warmly invite all parents and carers to join us for Class Masses—a special opportunity to pray together, celebrate our children’s faith journey, and strengthen our school community. Your presence is important to the students as they lead us in prayer and reflection. Families are very welcome.

From Term 4, Mass will begin at 9.15am each Wednesday. Mass/Liturgy dates are:

·         Wednesday October 29 - Year 5/6SH and NT

·         Wednesday November 12 - 1/2CS and 1/2JS

·         Wednesday November 12 -Reception AS and R/1TW Liturgy of the Word

·         Wednesday November 26 - 3/4JB and MB Class Mass

Our End of Year Thanksgiving Mass is on Wednesday December 3, Week 8. We will celebrate our year together and ask for God’s blessings for our Year 6 students. Please join us for this special community celebration.

St Patrick’s Year 6 Graduating Students

Term 4 is a time for reflection and celebration, especially for our Year 6 students as they prepare to graduate. Throughout the term, they will look back on their journey, cherishing memories and recognising the many ways they’ve contributed to our St Patrick’s community.

We keep each of them in our prayers as they learn, laugh, and embrace the final term of their primary school years with joy and gratitude.

St Vincent De Paul Annual Christmas Appeal

Our Social Justice initiative this term is to support St Vinnies by collecting items for their Annual Christmas Appeal. St Vinnies invite us all to donate food, drink and gift items for the Christmas Hampers. Information about the collection will be sent home this week.  Thank you.

God bless.

Anne-Marie Platten

Assistant Principal Religious Identity and Mission.

JBLSC

JBLSC- Little Chefs Cooking Up Fun!

During cooking, the JBLSC students have learnt to make cupcakes, fruit skewers, banana bread, chocolate balls, and smoothies, and recently, enjoyed their own cheesy pizzas.

Each student explored the ingredients by touching, smelling, and naming what they saw. With great excitement, they followed each step carefully, spreading the sauce, sprinkling the cheese, and watching their pizzas cook to perfection. The classroom was filled with delicious smells and proud smiles as everyone enjoyed tasting their creations.

Cooking in the JBLSC is more than just fun, it’s a valuable opportunity for our learners to practice turn-taking, following instructions, making choices, and building independence in a hands-on, meaningful way. Our little chefs continue to show that learning can be both joyful and delicious!

SCHOOL INFORMATION

St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal

St Patrick’s School community members have always been very generous in their support of the St Vincent De Paul Society’s Christmas Appeal. The St Vincent De Paul Charity is once again asking our community to support their Annual Christmas Appeal. This year St Vinnies are asking for donations of Christmas food, items or Christmas gifts for children or adults.

· If you would like to donate a gift, please don’t wrap the gift so that the representatives know the suitable age groups to give the gifts to.

· If you would like to donate food, please ensure the food is non-perishable.

Suggested items include: Nibbles like sweets and nuts, Tinned ham and fish, Tinned vegetables, Puddings and mince pies, Longlife Custard, tinned fruit, Sweet and savoury biscuits, Serviettes, tablecloths and decorations, A Christmas shopping bag, New toys or gifts

Please bring your donations to your child’s class by Friday December 5, and we will present them to Sr Catherine, our St Vincent De Paul representative in Week 8.

Playgroup, family fun for families with children under 5 years

Playgroup SA has partnered with the Office for the Early Years (Department of Education) to provide free development checks for children aged 12 months to 4 years. The checks provide an opportunity to monitor your child’s development, identify any concerns and celebrate milestones. A development check helps to monitor whether a child is meeting the milestones for their age (such as dressing or talking). Please note this is not a health check.

Please contact Chau Tran 8303 4500 if you would like further information or would like to book in child development check.

VOLUNTEERING

As a Volunteer at St Patrick's, you can get involved in:

  • Parents & Friends Community
  • Canteen - Fridays
  • School Board
  • School Events
  • Excursions - Class support
  • Sports Day

An important role of Volunteer is to promote strong links between the parents and the school but also strong links between families, where members of families really feel that they belong to the school.

An active parent group also ensures the school is well resourced and the grounds are always well maintained.

We are welcoming new parents to come along and Volunteer at the School and join the Parents and Friends Group. Any amount of time is helpful.

Please enquire at the front desk or call on 8303 4500

FINANCE NEWS

School Fees 2025

From the Finance Officer

A friendly reminder to those families, who do not have a direct debit set up, that Term 3 fees were due the last day of Term 3 which was the 26/9/25.

We offer direct debit, BPay, EFTPOS and direct deductions from Centrelink to cater to the changing financial needs of our families at St Patrick’s School. When the direct debit payment option is selected your school fee payment is calculated over the full school year right up until the 31st of December 2024. This means smaller payments are required, making this method the most affordable way to budget for your commitment. Please come into the office or ring me on 83034500 if one of these options would better suit your financial requirements.

School Card 2025 is applied for online. If you haven’t already applied for this year, please arrange as soon as possible as the cut-off date is early November. Instructions on how to do this are available at the front office.

School Card must be applied for each year.

If at any time you are having trouble meeting your school fee commitment, or have any queries, please contact me on 83034500 to discuss this matter.

Kind Regards

Dan Guo (Finance Officer)
