FROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

From the Principal

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Living Learning Leading (LLL) Surveys

A heartfelt thank you to all parents and carers who have already completed the Parent Online LLL Survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable as we continue to shape our improvement strategies at St Patrick’s School.

If you haven’t had a chance to complete the survey yet, please do so before it closes this Friday. Your voice matters!

Road Safety Reminder

For the safety of all students, please avoid performing 3-point turns near the school during drop-off and pick-up times. These maneuvers pose serious risks. Instead, take a few extra minutes to drive around the block or find a safe turning spot.

Please remember to slow down as you approach school crossings. We’ve had several concerning incidents where cars are unaware that children are clearly waiting to cross. Let’s work together to keep our students safe.

School Attendance Matters

Our school gates open at 8:30 am, and the bell rings at 8:50 am. Arriving on time helps students start their day calmly, supports a positive learning environment, and builds lifelong habits of punctuality and responsibility.

If your child is absent due to illness, please notify the Front Office so we can record it appropriately. For absences due to holidays, a special form must be completed—available at the Front Office.

Learning Conversations

It was wonderful to welcome many parents and carers to our recent Learning Conversations. These meetings are a vital part of building strong partnerships between home and school, and they provide valuable insights into student progress and wellbeing.

Thank you to our dedicated teachers for their thoughtful preparation and time. If you weren’t able to attend, please feel free to arrange a suitable time with your child’s class teacher.

Catholic Education Open Week

Last Wednesday, our classrooms were open for families and visitors to witness Literacy and Numeracy learning in action. Thank you to everyone who joined us—it was a joy to share our learning environment with you.

Mary MacKillop Feast Day

Last Friday, we celebrated the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop with a whole-school Mass followed by our vibrant Mission Markets. Students showed incredible creativity in designing their stalls, and the day was filled with joy and community spirit.

A big thank you to all the parents who came along to support their children and be part of this special celebration.

In all things love

Mary MacKillop Feast Day 2025

A heartfelt thank you to our families, staff, and students for making Mary MacKillop’s Feast Day such a success.

Thanks also to Fr Olek for celebrating Mass with us.

The Mission Market fundraising experiences were delicious, creative and a lot of fun for all. Our staff were extremely grateful to our families for their generosity with donations for the stalls and we were pleased family members could join us for the occasion.

St Patrick’s School truly is a blessed community.

STEM

St Patricks in STEM

This year we have continued our broadening of skills in Digital Technologies which continue to spark creativity and curiosity across all year levels.

In Reception and Year 1/2, students have explored Book Creator, combining photos, drawings, and voice recordings to create their own digital books which we have added to Seesaw. This continues to build early digital literacy through storytelling and self-reflection.

In Year3/4 and 4/5, students dove into Code.org. and used scaffolded lessons guiding students through coding basics, fostering problem-solving and logical thinking.

In Years 5/ 6, students designed and printed in 3D a meaningful memento from home to include in their "Suitcase Project," that was displayed at Port Adelaide. They have also engaged with a financial literacy STEM challenge, designing items for a virtual market and learning how to manage a budget.

Our senior students also participated in Podcasting producing and recording earlier in the year with Podcasts uploaded for public listening.

Across the school, technology is not just a tool—it’s a bridge to creativity, connection, and confidence, preparing students for the digital world while supporting the curriculum through hands-on, meaningful learning experiences.

Playgroup, family fun for families with children under 5 years

Playgroup SA has partnered with the Office for the Early Years (Department of Education) to provide free development checks for children aged 12 months to 4 years. The checks provide an opportunity to monitor your child’s development, identify any concerns and celebrate milestones. A development check helps to monitor whether a child is meeting the milestones for their age (such as dressing or talking). Please note this is not a health check.

Please contact Chau Tran 8303 4500 if you would like further information or would like to book in child development check.

VOLUNTEERING

As a Volunteer at St Patrick's, you can get involved in:

  • Parents & Friends Community
  • School Board
  • School Events
  • Excursions - Class support
  • Sports Day

An important role of Volunteer is to promote strong links between the parents and the school but also strong links between families, where members of families really feel that they belong to the school.

An active parent group also ensures the school is well resourced and the grounds are always well maintained.

We are welcoming new parents to come along and Volunteer at the School and join the Parents and Friends Group. Any amount of time is helpful.

Please enquire at the front desk or call on 8303 4500

FINANCE NEWS

School Fees 2025

From the Finance Officer

A friendly reminder to those families, who do not have a direct debit set up, that Term 2 fees were due the last day of term 2 which was the 4/7/25.

We offer direct debit, BPay, EFTPOS and direct deductions from Centrelink to cater to the changing financial needs of our families at St Patrick’s School. When the direct debit payment option is selected your school fee payment is calculated over the full school year right up until the 31st of December 2024. This means smaller payments are required, making this method the most affordable way to budget for your commitment. Please come into the office or ring me on 83034500 if one of these options would better suit your financial requirements.

School Card 2025 is applied for online if you haven’t already applied for this year please arrange as soon as possible as the cut-off date is early November. Instructions on how to do this are available at the front office.

School Card must be applied for each year.

If at any time you are having trouble meeting your school fee commitment, or have any queries, please contact me on 83034500 to discuss this matter.
