FROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

From the Principal - Catherine O'Dea

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Last Friday, we celebrated Sports Day, one of the most anticipated events of the year, and it certainly did not disappoint. The excitement began well before the day with house wristbands and chant rehearsals, and continued with beautiful weather, a sea of colour and strong community support. It was wonderful to see so many parents, caregivers and grandparents cheering on our students. The energy, team spirit and positive values on display were outstanding. My sincere thanks to Ms Johnson for her organisation, and to all staff for their support. Congratulations to MacKillop on taking first place.

As we celebrate mothers and the special women in our lives this Mother’s Day, we look to Mary, the Mother of God, as our inspiration. Her strength, faith and love remind us of the powerful role women play in shaping families and communities. We are deeply grateful for the care, guidance and dedication they share each day.

This Friday, we warmly invite you to join us for our Special Women’s Breakfast and Liturgy in the Mary Mercer Hall, a meaningful opportunity to honour the incredible women in our lives alongside your children.

Wishing all mothers, grandmothers and special women a wonderful celebration on Sunday for Mother’s Day.

Warm regards

Catherine

Celebrating Special Women in our Lives Breakfast & Liturgy — Friday 8th May

We invite the special women in our students' lives to join us for our Celebrating Special Women in our Lives Breakfast & Liturgy. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate together, strengthen the bond between our school and community, and share in our Catholic identity through prayer and togetherness.

  • Date: Friday 8th May
  • Time: 8:30am - 9:00am
  • Location: School Gym

At 8:50am, all classes will make their way to the gym for a short liturgy led by our Year 2 students, followed by a song performed by our Reception-Year 2 classes.

We will also be running an optional raffle open to both families and staff, with three prizes up for grabs!

To ensure every student feels included and celebrated, all classes will receive a special treat of cookies or muffins to share on the day.

You should have received a paper invite home with your child this week to RSVP for the breakfast — please don't forget to return it! If you haven't received one, please contact the front office. We hope to see you there!

Warmly,

Rachael De Tullio

Sports Day 2026

St Patrick’s Sports Day on Friday 1 May was everything we hoped for — bright weather, friendly competition, and a sea of ribbons proudly waved by students from Reception to Year 6. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, with teams cheering each other on and showing great sportsmanship throughout the day.

A huge congratulations to MacKillop (Blue) on their narrow and hard fought win. All teams competed with heart, spirit and determination, making it a fantastic day for our whole school community.

Student Fitness Leaders

On Tuesday 5 May, thirteen Year 6 students attended the Student Leaders Workshop hosted at St Patrick’s School. The day was facilitated by ACHPER in partnership with SACPSSA, with a focus on developing leadership skills through supporting Sport and Physical Education activities. We were joined by students from SAC and St Pius X, creating a vibrant and collaborative learning environment.

It was wonderful to see our students conduct themselves with such respect, responsibility and maturity — they were truly a credit to St Patrick’s School. We look forward to seeing them put their new skills into action, including leading fitness rotations later in the year and stepping into other leadership opportunities as they arise.

Well done to our participating students: Alberta, AiVy, Anna H, Emily, Giao, Jess, Joanna, Linda, Nyikok, Ramon, Sami, Sami and Thiv.

Warmest,

Nicole Johnson - Teacher

FINANCE NEWS

From the Finance Officer

We offer direct debit, BPay, EFTPOS and direct deductions from Centrelink to cater to the changing financial needs of our families at St Patrick’s School. When the direct debit payment option is selected your school fee payment is calculated over the full school year right up until the 31st of December 2026. School Card is applied for online. If you haven’t already applied for this year, please arrange as soon as possible as the cut-off date is early November. Instructions on how to do this are available at the front office.

School Card must be applied for each year.

If at any time you are having trouble meeting your school fee commitment, or have any queries, please contact me on 83034500 to discuss this matter.
