School Disco
Our school disco is locked in for Week 7 - Friday, 5th September in the school hall. We’ll share more details early next term.
If you have a current Working With Children Check and would like to help with planning or setup, please contact Ms Platten at: aplatten@stpatsmp.catholic.edu.au or let the front office know.
Parent Feedback - LLL Surveys
Each year, Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) asks all Catholic schools to complete the LLL Surveys. These surveys are for staff, students, and parents.
We invite all parents to take part - it’s a quick and easy way to share your thoughts about how our school is going.
- Takes only 3-5 minutes
- Responses are anonymous
- Your feedback helps us reflect, improve, and plan for the future
The surveys are online and need to be completed by Friday, 22nd August (Week 5).
More information will be given out in the new term. If you need help to access or complete the survey, please contact the Front Office, and we’ll be happy to assist.
Your voice matters - thank you for taking the time to support our school!
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
We are currently completing our data for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), which happens every year in all Australian schools. This data helps identify and support students with disability and learning needs by recording the learning adjustments we make to meet their individual needs.
Information collected is completely anonymous—no student names or personal details are included. The data helps the government understand how to support schools better and contributes to school funding.
Thank you for supporting our inclusive learning community.
Student Attendance - Let Us Know!
If your child is away due to illness, please contact the front office to let us know. If we haven’t heard from you, you’ll receive a text message asking for a reason. Please reply to this message as soon as possible.
Each term, we must report any student who has been absent for 10 or more days without explanation. This is a government requirement.
If your child will be away for a family holiday, you’ll need to complete a form available at the front office. This form must be signed by the principal before the absence.
Thank you for helping us keep our attendance records up to date!
Semester 1 Reports
Your child has brought home their Semester 1 School Report on Wednesday. Reports include two grades:
- Achievement - what your child knows and can do
- Effort - how hard they tried
Some reports may show AAS for a subject. This means your child is working on a different year level for that area, which would have already been discussed with you.
Please take time to read and discuss the report with your child. Praise their effort and talk together about setting goals for next term.
Stranger Danger
Students and families are reminded to be wary of approaches from strangers, especially when they are unaccompanied or travelling to and from school. If they are approached students should not respond and should not accept offers of rides or gifts.
Students should seek the assistance of other nearby adults if they feel unsafe and should report the event to a trusted adult (parent or school staff member) as soon as possible.
SA Police advises that taking out a mobile phone and calling police can deter the offender and they recommend the student making a formal report to their closest police station.
For guidance on what to teach your child about strategies for saying safe, view this link: SAPOL Personal Safety | Safety for Young People
School Improvements
We’re pleased to share that Catholic Education SA (CESA) has approved plans to refurbish the student toilets in the courtyard.
Architects are now working on the designs, and we expect work to begin later this term.
This is a great step forward in making our school an even better place for our students. We’ll keep you updated as the project progresses!
End of Term 2
School finishes early on Friday, 4th July at 12:30pm.
- Students may wear casual clothes
- Camp Australia will be offering OSHC, so please book if needed
Term 3 starts on Monday, 21st July.
We wish all our families a safe and happy holiday. We hope you find time to rest, have fun, and enjoy each other’s company.
In all things love,
Barbara Ahern
