FROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

From the Principal - Catherine O'Dea

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome back to the 2026 school year! It was a joy to welcome our students and families back this week, and we extend a very warm welcome to all new families joining our St Patrick’s community. We also warmly welcome our new teaching, administration, and support staff.

As we begin Term 1, I would like to thank you for the strong sense of partnership and community that makes St Patrick’s such a special place. We are looking ahead to a year of growth, opportunity, and exciting change as we work together to support every child.

Please Join us for our Meet the Teacher Evening and AGM on the 10th of February, details below.

Exciting School Upgrades Underway
You may notice some changes around the school grounds as we continue with a range of exciting upgrades. We are thrilled to be enhancing our learning environments with:

  • A brand-new student chill zone

  • New classroom and shared-space furniture across the school

  • Toilet upgrades

  • Dedicated new learning spaces for students who require additional support

  • An exciting landscaping project designed by renowned designers Yardstick, which our children and community will enjoy for years to come

While we expect these works to be completed soon, as with all building projects, timelines can be impacted by trade availability and inclement weather. These measures are essential to ensure safety for all. During this time, we ask families to please use the alternate gate near the oval on Dudley Crescent as directed. Thank you for your patience and cooperation — we promise the result will be worth it!

Behind the scenes, our IT team has also been hard at work, ensuring students and staff have access to the latest technology and devices to enhance learning in 2026.

As we begin this new year together, we look forward to bigger and brighter things for 2026. We embrace change, innovation, and opportunity and we proudly live our values of being Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient in all that we do.

We cannot wait to teach your children this year and to continue working in partnership with you to ensure every student feels known, supported, and inspired- the St Pat’s Way.

Here’s to a wonderful year ahead.

Warm regards,

Mrs Catherine O’Dea
Principal

Landscaping by renowned designer Yardstick

Here is a preview of our beautiful outdoor space that is being finished by yardstick. We can't wait for the children and community to enjoy this space. Thank you for your patience while we finish this project.

An opening for the garden will be held so stay tuned - we will announce a date soon. We will be involving the St Patrick's community in helping us name the garden.

From the APRIM - Rachael DeTullio

Dear St Patrick’s Community,

My name is Rachael DeTullio, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new APRIM at St Patrick’s.

It is a privilege to be joining such a welcoming and faith-filled community. I am very much looking forward to working alongside staff, students, and families as we live out this year’s theme, “Together in All Things Love,” and continue to nurture the strong Catholic identity of our school.

I feel grateful for the opportunity to begin this journey at St Patrick’s and look forward to getting to know the community in the weeks ahead.

Our Beginning of Year Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 4th February at 9:15am.

This special Mass will include a blessing for our Year 6 students, as they begin their final year at St Patrick’s, as well as a welcome and blessing for our Reception students and any new students joining our community.

Families are warmly invited to join us in the church as we gather together in all things love to begin the school year in prayer.

We look forward to sharing this celebration with you.

Sacrament Programme 2026

If you have a child in year 3 or above who would like to celebrate the sacraments of reconciliation (confession), confirmation and eucharist (first holy communion), you are warmly invited to join our sacrament programme for 2026. Our first gathering is an information evening on:

Tuesday 10th of February, 7pm, at Whitefriars School, Mary MacKillop Centre.

If you haven’t already signed up to join the programme, enrolment forms will be available at the meeting. Forms are also available now at our school and parish offices, as well as on the parish website.

If you would like more information about the sacrament programme, or if you are not sure about your child’s readiness, please contact our sacramental coordinator, Kirsty Power, sacramental.coordinator@croydonparkparish.com.au

Questions can also be directed to your school APRIM, Rachael DeTullio.

Warm Regards,

Rachael DeTullio, APRIM

Walking Together at St Pat's Family Evening and AGM to Wednesday 11 February, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.

Join us for our Annual General Meeting and Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, 11 February at 4:30pm.

Parents and caregivers are warmly invited to meet their child’s teacher and hear about the learning year ahead.

Our Annual General Meeting is also an opportunity to learn more about school priorities, hear updates from leadership, and find out how you can contribute to our community. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to consider nominating for the School Advisory Board.

School advisory boards continue to be the formal voice of the community to the principal. They are a forum for discussion and discernment where parent and community perspectives are available to advise and support the decisions made by the principal.

For more information or a nomination form, contact the front office.

  • reducing packaging where you can - check out KESAB’s what is ‘Nude Food’ anyway? for package free lunch food ideas

PLAYGROUP

Playgroup, family fun for families with children under 5 years

Tuesdays and Fridays 9am

Playgroup SA has partnered with the Office for the Early Years (Department of Education) to provide free development checks for children aged 12 months to 4 years. The checks provide an opportunity to monitor your child’s development, identify any concerns and celebrate milestones. A development check helps to monitor whether a child is meeting the milestones for their age (such as dressing or talking). Please note this is not a health check.

Please contact Chau Tran 8303 4500 if you would like further information or would like to book in child development check.

VOLUNTEERING

As a Volunteer at St Patrick's, you can get involved in:

  • Parents & Friends Community
  • Canteen - Fridays
  • School Board
  • School Events
  • Excursions - Class support
  • Sports Day

An important role of Volunteer is to promote strong links between the parents and the school but also strong links between families, where members of families really feel that they belong to the school.

An active parent group also ensures the school is well resourced and the grounds are always well maintained.

We are welcoming new parents to come along and Volunteer at the School and join the Parents and Friends Group. Any amount of time is helpful.

Please enquire at the front desk or call on 8303 4500

FINANCE NEWS

From the Finance Officer

We offer direct debit, BPay, EFTPOS and direct deductions from Centrelink to cater to the changing financial needs of our families at St Patrick’s School. When the direct debit payment option is selected your school fee payment is calculated over the full school year right up until the 31st of December 2024. This means smaller payments are required, making this method the most affordable way to budget for your commitment. Please come into the office or ring me on 83034500 if one of these options would better suit your financial requirements.

School Card is applied for online. If you haven’t already applied for this year, please arrange as soon as possible as the cut-off date is early November. Instructions on how to do this are available at the front office.

School Card must be applied for each year.

If at any time you are having trouble meeting your school fee commitment, or have any queries, please contact me on 83034500 to discuss this matter.

Our school fees will remain unchanged for 2026.

Kind Regards
