Enrolment for Reception Students

Intakes and ages for starting school


While children relocating from another school can start at any time, Catholic schools accept children starting their first year of school twice a year. This first year is called ‘Reception’.

Term 1 Intake: 

For children who turn 5 years old on or before April 30 of that year. These children will spend four terms in Reception.

Term 3 Intake: 

For children who turn 5 years old after April 30 and before October 31. 

These children will spend six terms in Reception. 

Children whose birthday falls between 1st November and 31st December will commence school in Term 1 of the following year.
