Curriculum Areas

St Patrick's School provides a contemporary teaching and learning program that is embedded in contemporary Information Communication Technology (ICT) and as educators we adopt diverse methods to cater for all learning styles.

St Patrick's School provides broad, holistic academic opportunities with nine curriculum areas which include Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Physical Education and Health, The Arts and Languages Other Than English (LOTE).

Our school has a strong English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program supporting students' literacy with additional EAL teachers from Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) supporting class teachers with the delivery of a rich literacy program.

St Patrick's School is also involved in the National Partnerships programme called "Communities Making a Difference". This is a Federal Government funded initiative that assists in improving literacy, numeracy and well-being outcomes through building teacher capacity and building effective community partnerships.

St Patrick's School provide the opportunity each week for students to be part of specialist programs with specialist teachers in the areas of Library, Physical Education, Music/Drama and a Language other than English (LOTE). Students at St Patrick's School can choose to learn either Italian or Vietnamese.

The teaching and learning at St Patrick's School aims to provide a broad and relevant education that is appropriate to the learning needs of each student.

Currently St Patrick's School is transitioning from the South Australian Curriculum Standards and Accountabiity Frameworks to the Australian Curriculum.
